Dr. Susan Iosca, DVM grew-up on the North Carolina coast with
a myriad of dogs, cats and horses. After moving to Washington
State in the early 1980's, her passion for horses prompted her
to attend equine science classes at Green River Community
College in Washington State.
Enjoying what college had to offer, Dr. Iosca journeyed to
New Mexico where she obtained a Bachelors degree in Agriculture
from New Mexico State University in 1985. With her undergraduate
degree in place, Dr. Iosca headed back to Washington State to
earn her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the Washington
State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1991.
Upon graduation Dr. Iosca enjoyed being a full-time general
practitioner and a part-time emergency clinician in the
Vancouver, Washington area for 7 years. Having a love for the
desert Southwest, Dr. Iosca ventured to the greater Phoenix area
to work at a private practice, as well as a 24 hour four
hospital emergency facility.
Dr. Iosca deviated from the norm by living in Mexico for 2
years, basking in the foreign culture and riding her horse. She
did make monthly treks to Phoenix, Sierra Vista and Tucson to
provide relief help for the doctors there in general practices
and emergency hospitals. For a time she worked side-by-side with
Mexican veterinarians finding that the love for animals has no
borders.
The lure of a great support staff, beautiful facility and
advanced specialty services has Dr. Iosca now providing
full-time emergency and critical care for the Southern Arizona
Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center.
